Job Description

We are always seeking tutors to work as independent contractors (self-employed tutor) in various locations across the state of Ohio. As a Tutoring Place tutor, you will experience a flexible and well-paying part time job as an in- home tutor or after-school tutor at the child's school.  You will have the opportunity to play a vital role in the academic success of students while they improve their reading and math skills as they prepare for the Ohio Achievement Test (OAT) and Ohio Graduation Test (OGT).



Tutor Resposibilities include:

  • Administering pre- and post-assessments
  • Grading assessments
  • Meeting with parents to discuss goals
  • Motivating the student by developing a positive relationship
  • Progress Monitoring

Because we work with various school districts our schedule for tutoring is often dictated by the school districts.  It may be days or weeks or even months before you have your first assignment.  Priority for client assignments is given to those tutors who have been waiting the longest. We only contract tutors in areas where we expect to be tutoring soon.

Tutors must have a copy of a current BCI/FBI fingerprint background check.
